Imre Szekeres: Defense expenditure to be boosted

Contrary to earlier plans, Hungary will raise its defense expenditure as a proportion of GDP by 0.2 per cent in the next five years.

Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány and Hungarian Defense Minister Imre Szekeres told to the NATO Secretary General on their meeting on Monday morning. Mr. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer also met László Sólyom, the President of the Republic of Hungary later on that day.
